Rajna Swaminathan

Rajna's father Dr. P. K. Swaminathan, disciple of Maestro Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman, is a mrudangam artist with over 30 years experience accompanying musicians & dancers.  He is a scientist by profession.

Rajna's mother Lalitha Swaminathan, is a vocalist, Nattuvangam artist and a Bharathanatyam dancer.  She has been providing vocal and nattuvangam for dance performances for the past 25 years.  She is a software systems engineer by profession.

Rajna's sister, Anjna Swaminathan is a violinist trained by Parur Sri M. S. Gopalakrishnan & Mysore Sri H. K. Narasimhamurthy.  She gives solo concerts and provides accompaniment for musicians & dancers.  Watch and listen to Anjna's solo with Rajna on Mrudangam:
